古箏初級指法 Guzheng for Beginners

(8)  left hand Vibrato

_____________________________________________________________________________

Vibrato is when you use your left hand to gently press down and up repeatedly. The steps are as follow:
Gather your index finger, middle finger and ring finger. Make sure that your finger joints do not bend inward. Instead, they should point downward naturally and slightly bend outward.Place the three fingers on the left of a bridge. The distance should be approximately a palm’s length between your fingers and the bridge.Your wrist, back of your hand, and your palm should be parallel with one another. Make sure your wrist does not bend inward. When performing vibrato, move your fingers up and down. You should not move your fingers forward and backward.Perform vibrato only after finishing plucking the string. Avoid performing vibrato and plucking the same string at the same time. Do not put extra strength towards the end of the vibrato - simply let the remaining sound to disappear on its own.
